| Materials needed: One skein (1.75 oz.) 100% Alpaca Wool Sportweight yarn. (I used FrogTree Brand in this pattern.) I Button with larger center hole. Or 2 inch plastic ring Size "G" crochet Hook Chain 19. Row 1: YO, insert hook in 4th ch from hook (skipped ch counts as hdc and ch 1 sp), draw up a loop, skip next ch, YO and insert hook in next ch, draw up a loop. YO and draw through all 5 loops on hook (HDC Cluster made). Ch1, **YO insert hook in same ch as cluster just completed, draw up a loop, skip next ch, YO and insert hook in the next ch, draw up a loop. YO and draw through all 5 loops on hook, ch1.** Repeat ** across to last ch. HDC in last chain. Row 2: Ch 3, (counts as HDC and ch 1 sp), turn. **Work HDC Cluster in next ch 1 sp and in top of cluster of previous row, ch 1** Repeat ** across to last stitch. HDC in 2nd ch of turning ch 2. Repeat row 2 until skein of yarn is finished. Weave in all ends. Pull both ends through button. Adjust to length around neck that is comfortable for you, or compliments your outfit. You can easily adjust the pattern for different widths. I have made them both wider and skinnier, With the wider ones, I use a piece of Velcro, because there isn't as much room to play with and I let it hang over my shoulder. Just do your chain in an odd number and the pattern will turn out right. These make great and easy gifts for teachers, and any kind of yarn can be used. Just use an "H" hook with worsted weight (like Caron's Simply Soft"), and you could make a great teacher's gift for under $5.00!!! Happy Crocheting everyone! Variation: Instead of doing a button, I got 2" plastic rings, Draw a loop in ring, ch1, hdc in ring. HDC around ring evenly until completed, join with a slip stitch. Round 2: Ch 1, sc in same st, DC in next st. *sc in next st, dc in next st* Repeat * around, Join with a sl st and finish off. Slip ends of Snarf through ring as in pictures.
