Special Stitches: Shell stitch: 2dc, ch1, 2dc in space or stitch indicated.
Make 2
Ch6, join to first ch to form a ring.
Round 1: ch3 (to count as first dc now and throughout). 11 dc in ring, join with sl st to 1st dc (total 12 dc).
Round 2: sl st in first 2 dc, ch 3, dc, ch 1 2 dc in same stitch, skip next dc, shell stitch (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in next dc, (skip next dc, shell stitch) around. Join with sl to 3rd ch of beg ch3.
Round 3: sl st to 1st ch1 space of shell. Ch3, dc, ch1, 2dc in same space, ch 4, (shell in next ch1 space of previous shell, ch 4) around. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3.
Round 4: Ch 3, dc in next dc, dc in next ch1 space, dc in next 2 dc, 5 dc in ch4 space. (Dc in next 2dc, dc in ch1 sp, dc in next 2 dc, 5 dc in next ch4 space) around. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3. (60 dc)
Finish off.
On 2nd piece, don’t finish off after completing round 4.
Joining:
With wrong sides facing, and matching stitches, sl through both pieces, ch1 sc in same space, sc in each dc around. Join with sl st to 1st sc. Insert CD about ½ way through joining round.
Sl st in first 2 sc. Ch3, dc, ch1, 2dc in same space. Skip next two sc, (shell in next sc, skip next 2 sc) around. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch3.
Finish off and weave in ends.
