Pattern Stitches: Beginning Shell (Beg Sh): ch 3-2dc- ch 2- 3dc in space indicated. Shell (Sh): 3dc- ch 3- 3dc in space indicated. Long Double Crochet (LDC): Yarn over, insert hook in space indicated (which will be one row below the row you are working on) draw up a loop, draw through 2 loops on hook (twice) LDC made.
Round 1: With Color A, Ch 4 ( counts as 1st dc and ch 1 sp), dc- ch 1 in 4th ch from hook 11 times. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 4. (12 dc and 12 ch 1 spaces).
Round 2: Ch 5 (counts as 1st dc and ch 2 sp). dc- ch 2 in each dc around. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 5. (12 dc and 12 ch 2 spaces).
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in same sp. Ch 1 LDC in ch 1 space of rnd 1, ch 1. *sc in next dc, ch 1, LDC in ch 1 space of rnd 1, ch 1* Repeat * around. Join with a sl st to first sc. Finish Off Color A.
Round 4: Join Color B with a sl st in any sc, ch 1, sc in same sp. ch 3, *sc in next LDC, ch 3, sc in next sc, ch 3* Repeat * around. Join with a sl st to 1st sc. (24 ch 3 spaces).
Round 5: Sl st in next ch 3 space. Ch 1. (sc-hdc-dc-hdc-sc) in same space (scallop made). Ch 1, sc in next ch 3 sp, ch 1, * (sc-hdc-dc-hdc-sc) in next ch 3 sp, ch 1, sc in next ch 3 sp, ch 1* Repeat * around. Join with a sl sto to 1st sc. Finish off Color B.
Round 6: Join color A with a sl st in any center DC of scallop. Ch 4 (1st dc and ch 1 sp) (DC- ch 1- dc) in same space, Ch 5. *(dc-ch1-dc-ch1-dc) in center dc on next scallop, ch 5* Repeat * around. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 4.
Round 7: Sl st in next ch 1 space, ch 1 sc, in same space, ch 3, sc in next ch 1 sp. LDC over next 5 stitches and ch 1 spaces from Round 5. *sc in next ch 1 sp, ch 3, sc in next ch 1 sp, LDC over next 5 stitches and ch 1 spaces from Round 5* Repeat * around. Join with a sl st to 1st sc. Finish off Color A.
Round 8: Join Color B with a sl st in any ch 3 space. Beg Sh in same space, ch 3, skip next 2 LDC, sc in next LDC, ch 3. *SH in next ch 3 space, ch 3, skip next 2 LDC, sc in next LDC, ch 3* Repeat * around. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3.
Round 9: Sl st in next 2 dc and next ch 2 sp. Beg SH in same space. Ch 3, LDC in each of the 2 skipped LDC of Round 7, dc in next sc, LDC in each of the 2 skipped LDC of Round 7, ch 3. *Sh in next sh, ch 3, LDC in each of the 2 skipped LDC of Round 7, dc in next sc, LDC in each of the 2 skipped LDC of Round 7, ch 3* Repeat * around. Round 10: Join Color A with a sl st in any ch 2 sp of shell. Ch 1, 3sc in same sp. SC in each stitch around doing 3 sc in EACH CH2 AND CH 3 space. Join with a sl st to 1st sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
