Special StitchesL front Post Double Crochet (FPDC): Yarn over, insert hook from Front to Back around post of st indicated. YO and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), (YO and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice.
Back Post Double Crochet (BPDC): yarn over, insert hook from Back to Front around the post of st indicated. YO and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), (YO and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice.
Ch 6, join to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as DC now and throughout), 11 dc in ring, join with a sl st to first dc (12 DC)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around. Join with a sl st to 1st dc (24 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 3, 2 dc in next st. *DC in next st, 2DC in next st* Repeat * around. Join with a sl st to 1st dc. (36 dc)
Rnd 4: Ch 3, DC in each st around. Join with a sl st to 1st dc (36 dc)
Rnd 5: Insert hook from front to back of ch 3 one row below, draw through loop, ch 3 (1st FPDC made),, FPDC around next 2 st, BPDC around next 3 st. *FPDC around next 3 st, BPDC around next 3 st* Repeat around, join with a sl st to top of 1st FPDC.
Rnd 6: Repeat rnd 5
Rnd 7: Insert hook from back to front of ch 3 one row below. draw through loop, ch 3 (1st BPDC made) BPDC around next 2 st, FPDC around next 3 st. *BPDC around next 3 st, FPDC around next 3 st* Repeat * around, Join with a sl st to top of 1sr BPDC.
Rnd 8: Repeat round 7.
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in same st and in each st around. Join with a sl st to 1st sc. (36 sc)
DO NOT FINISH OFF.
Handle:
Row 1: Ch 3, DC in next 3 st
Rnd 2- 11: Ch 3 turn, dc in next 3 st.
Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew handle to other side of basket (refer to photo if needed).
Place 4 in round cardboard in bottom of basket and fill with favorite pot pourri scent.
