Jar Lid Cover
		Materials Needed:  3 different colors of # 10 thread.  Used here:  Color A:  Yellow,Color B:  White, Color C:  Purple.  Size 3 steel crochet hook (I crochet with thread very tightly.  Most will find a # 6 to work up about the same as what I use a 3 for).  Small amount of 1/4 inch ribbon in matching color of one of the threads.  Jam/jelly jar.  Choice of potpouri or bath salts (anything with a nice scent).  Needle for sewing in ends.Special Stitches Used:  Beginning Shell (Beg Sh):  ch 3- 2dc- ch 2- 3dc in space indicated.  Shell (Sh):  3dc- ch 3- 3dc in space indicated. With color A, ch 6, join with a sl st to form a ring. Round 1:  Ch 1, 12 sc in ring.  Join in Back Loop Only (BLO) of 1st sc. Round 2:  Ch 2 (counts as 1st hdc).  HDC in BLO of same st.  2 HDC in BLO of each sc around.  Join with a sl in 2nd ch of beg ch 2 (24 HDC) Round 3:  Working this round in BLO:  Ch 6 (1st dc and ch 3 sp) (DC-Ch 3) in each stitch around.  Join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 6.  Finish off Color A .Round 4:  Join Color B with a sl st in any ch 3 sp, Beg Sh in same space.  Ch 2, (sc in next ch 3 sp, ch 2) 3 times.  *Sh in next ch 3 sp, ch 2, (sc in next ch 3 sp, ch 2) 3 times.*  Repeat * around.  Join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3. Round 5:  Sl st in next 2dc and next ch 2 sp.  Beg Sh in same sp, ch 2, sk next ch 2 sp. (sc in next ch 2 sp, ch 2) twice, sk next ch 2 sp.  *Sh in next sh, ch 2, skip next ch 2 sp.  (sc in next ch 2 sp, ch 2) twice, skip next ch 2 sp.*  Repeat * around.  Join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3. Round 6:  Sl st in next 2 dc and next ch 2 sp.  Beg Sh in same sp, ch 4, skip next ch 2 sp, sc in next ch 2 sp, ch 4, sk next ch 2 sp.  *Sh in next sh, ch 4, skip next ch 2 sp, sc in next ch 2 sp, ch 4, sk next ch 2 sp.*  Repeat * around.  Join with a sl sl to 3rd ch of beg ch 3. Round 7:  Sl st in next 2 dc and next ch 2 sp, Beg Sh in same sp, ch 9.  *Sh in next sh, ch 9.*  Repeat * around.  Join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3 .Round 8:  Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 2 dc, 3 sc in ch 2 sp, sc in next 3 dc, 13 sc in ch 9 sp.  *sc in next 3dc, 3sc in ch 2 sp, sc in next 3 dc, 13 sc in ch 9 sp.*  Repeat * around.  Join with a sl st to 1st sc.  Finish off Color B and weave in ends. PETALS:  Join Color C with a sl st in any unworked loop from Round 3.  In same st work sc-hdc.  In next st work dc-tc.  In next st work tc-dc.  In next st work hdc-sc.  *In next st work sc-hdc.  In next st work dc-tc.  In next st work tc-dc.  In next st work hdc-sc.*  Repeat * around, Join with a sl st to 1st sc.  Finish off Color C and weave in ends.Weave ribbon through shells of row 6.  Tie with a bow (refer to photo).
