Dish Towel
Materials Needed:
About 1 oz of worsted weight cotton: color A, Small amount worsted weight cotton color B. Size I crochet hook. Yarn needle for weaving in ends.
In Color A: Ch 47
Row 1: YO, insert hook in 4th ch from hook (skipped ch counts as hdc and ch 1 sp), draw up a loop, skip next ch, YO and insert hook in next ch, draw up a loop. YO and draw through all 5 loops on hook (HDC Cluster made). Ch1, **YO insert hook in same ch as cluster just completed, draw up a loop, skip next ch, YO and insert hook in the next ch, draw up a loop. YO and draw through all 5 loops on hook, ch1.** Repeat ** across to last ch. HDC in last chain.
Row 2: Ch 3, (counts as HDC and ch 1 sp), turn. **Work HDC Cluster in next ch 1 sp and in top of cluster of previous row, ch 1** Repeat ** across to last stitch. HDC in 2nd ch of turning ch 2.
Rows 3-4: Repeat row 2.
Rows 5-6: Change to color B, repeat row 2.
Rows 7-8: Change to Color A, repeat row 2.
Row 9-10: Change to Color B: Repeat row 2
Rows 11-24: Change to Color A, repeat row 2.
Row 25: Change to color B. Ch 1, turn, sc in same st and each st across. Be sure to come out with an even number of stitches.
Row 26: Ch 2 HDC cluster over 1st two st. **HDC cluster over next two stitches** Repeat ** across. (22 hdc clusters)
Row 27: Ch 2, turn, HDC over 1st two st, hdc each st across to last two st. HDC in last two stitches. (20 hdc clusters)
Rows 28-34: repeat row 27 until you have 6 stitches across.
Row 35-51: Ch 1 turn, sc in same st and each st across.
Row 52: Ch 1, turn, sc in same st, ch 4, skip next 4 st, sc in last st.
Row 53: Ch 1 st, sc in same st, sc in next 4 ch, sc in last st.
Edging: Ch1, turn, 3sc in corner st, sc evenly around entire piece, working 3 sc in each corner.
Finish off and weave in ends.
Fold top over and sew on button in proper place.
