size "h" crochet hook
finished size: approximately 9 1/2 inches in diameter
Special Stitches:
Beg DC Cluster: ch 3, DC leaving last loop on hook, repeat one time, yo and draw through all 3 loops on hook. Beg DC Cluster made.
DC Cluster: DC leaving last loop on hook. Repeat two more times, yo and draw through all 4 loops on hook. DC Cluster made.
V-Stitch: DC, ch 1, DC all in same space
Round 1: ch 6, join with ss in 1st chain to form a loop. Beg DC Cluster, ch3, (DC Cluster, ch 3) 5 times. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the Beg DC Cluster. (6 clusters and 6 ch 3 spaces made)
Round 2: ss in 1st ch 3 space. Beg DC Cluster, ch 3, DC Cluster ch 3 in same space. (DC Cluster, ch 3, DC Cluster ch 3) around in each ch 3 space. Join with ss to top of beg dc cluster. (12 DC Clusters and 12 ch3 spaces made)
Round 3: Repeat round 2. (at the end of this round you will have 24 DC Clusters and 24 ch 3 spaces.)
Round 4: ss in 1st ch 3 space. ch3, 2 dc in same space, do 3 dc in each chain 3 space around. (72 dc made).
Round 5: Ch 6 (counts as 1st dc and ch3), skip next two stitches. DC in 3rd stitch, ch 3, (skip next 2 st, dc in 3rd st, ch 3) around. Join with sl st to 3rd chain of beginning chain 6.
Round 6: Beg DC Cluster, ch3, DC Cluster in same space as Beg DC Cluster, ch 3, (DC Cluster, ch3, DC Cluster, ch 3) around in each ch 3 space. Join with sl st to top of beg dc cluster. (48 dc clusters and 48 ch 3 spaces made.)
Round 7: sl st in first ch 3 space. Ch 3, 3 dc in same space. Do 4 dc in each chain 3 space around. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3. (152 dc made)
Round 8: ch 4, dc in same space. skip next sc. v stitch (dc, ch 1, dc in same space) in next sc. (skip next sc, v stitch) around. join with a ss the the 3rd chain of starting ch 4.
Round 9: sl st to ch 1 space of v stitch. ch 1, sc in same space. (ch 2, dc in sc crochet of previous row, ch 2, sc in ch1 one space of v stitch) around. join to first sc. finish off and weave in ends.
