Special Stitch: Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC): YO, insert hook from front to back around post of stitch indicated. YO and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), (YO and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice.
Special Note: Entire piece is worked using 2 strands of thread held together.
Ch 6, join with a sl st to form a ring.
Round 1: ch 3, (counts as 1st dc), 11 more dc in ring, join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3. (12 dc).
Round 2: Inserting hook at the right of the stitch from front to back to front, sl st around the post of the first dc (the ch 3) of round 1, ch 4 (to count as first FPDC and ch 1 sp). FPDC-ch 1 around each remaining dc. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beginning ch 4. (12 FPDC, 12 ch 1 spaces).
Round 3: Inserting hook at the right of the stitch from front to back to front, sl st
around the post of the first dc (the ch 3) of previous round , ch 3 (to count as first FPDC). 2DC in next ch 1 sp, *FPDC around next FPDC, 2 DC in next ch 1 sp* Repeat * around. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3.
Round 4: Inserting hook at the right of the stitch from front to back to front, sl st around the post of the first dc (the ch 3) of previous round , ch 7 (to count as first FPDC and ch 4 sp). FPDC-ch 4 around each remaining FPDC. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beginning ch 7. (12 FPDC, 12 ch 4 spaces).
Round 5: Inserting hook at the right of the stitch from front to back to front, sl st
around the post of the first dc (the ch 3) of previous round , ch 3 (to count as first
FPDC). 4 DC in next ch 1 sp, *FPDC around next FPDC, 4 DC in next ch 1 sp*
Repeat * around. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3.
Round 6: Inserting hook at the right of the stitch from front to back to front, sl st
around the post of the first dc (the ch 3) of previous round , ch 9 (to count as first
FPDC and ch 6sp). FPDC-ch 6 around each remaining FPDC. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch
of beginning ch 9. (12 FPDC, 12 ch 6 spaces).
Round 7: Inserting hook at the right of the stitch from front to back to front, sl st
around the post of the first dc (the ch 3) of previous round , ch 3 (to count as first
FPDC). 6 DC in next ch 1 sp, *FPDC around next FPDC, 6 DC in next ch 1 sp*
Repeat * around. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 3.
Round 8: ch 1, sc in same st, ch 6, sl st in 5th ch from hook, sc in next 6 stitches. *in next stitch, sc-ch 6- sl st in 5th ch from hook. sc in next 6 stitches* Repeat around. Join with a sl st to 1st sc.
Finish off and weave in ends, Starch as desired.
